Letter: Democrats obsess over irrational ideas

In their desperation to defeat President Trump in 2020, the Democrats are obsessed with Russia, retaliation, racism and recession. These irresponsible antics would be comical if America’s future direction and survival didn’t matter so much.

First, the Democrats were certain that President Trump colluded with the Russians in order to win the 2016 president election. But after Robert Mueller’s nearly two-year, mega-million-dollar investigation was completed by 19 liberal lawyers, no collusion was found. To date, have any Democrats or biased news reporters apologized for their relentless hyping of a false narrative?

Of course, the real Russian collusion occurred within the Democratic party. Hillary Clinton and the Democratic National Committee, aided by the Deep State, paid for a bogus dossier designed to hinder Trump and help Crooked Hillary become president. It backfired. This hoax is now being investigated by the U.S. Justice Department and the ugly truth is about to surface. Look for the hypocritical Democrats to cry foul and deny everything.

Unable to accept the findings of the Mueller investigation, the Democrats have turned to retaliation via impeachment. They know such action won’t receive the 67 Senate votes needed to oust President Trump, but many Democrats don’t care. The intent is to create doubt in the minds of 2020 voters when Trump opposes a Democrat supporting open borders, single-payer “free” health care for all (including illegal immigrants), higher taxes, abortion on demand and the unaffordable “New Green Deal,” to name a few of their irrational ideas.

If retaliation isn’t enough, the Democrats are convinced that President Trump is a racist. They don’t seem to understand the difference between racism and criticism. For example, this writer is no fan of Sen. Nancy Pelosi (a white woman), Rep. Elijah Cummings (a black man) and Rep. Ilhan Omar (a Muslim woman who immigrated from Somalia). My view of these politicians has nothing to do with their sex, race, religion or birthplace and everything to do with their liberal policies.

President Trump has also been an outspoken critic of Pelosi, Cummings and Omar. This doesn’t make him a sexist, racist, islamophobe or xenophobe. The president, an equal opportunity critic, just doesn’t agree with their radical agenda and he has the guts to say so. Regrettably, Pelosi, Cummings, Omar and many other Democrats have resorted to name-calling to arouse their political base, get them in the headlines and stroke their enormous egos.

Finally, if Russia, retaliation and racism don’t get the job done, some Democrats are now hoping for a recession in spite of the best American economy in many years. In short, they’d rather see thousands of people lose their jobs, companies go out of business and the stock market plummet than witness the reelection of President Trump. It’s a disgusting, dangerous mind-set.

On Nov. 3, 2020, the date of our next presidential election, I believe the majority of voters will be smart enough to see through these Democratic distractions and delusions and reelect a man who’s focused on realistic results.
