Letter: Better health care, not laws, will lead to fewer abortions

I do not care if you are pro-life or pro-choice, no one wants more abortions. Everyone wants to limit the number of abortions.

Outlawing something does not make it stop. So, what good is House Bill 481?

Making abortions illegal does not stop them. I am old enough to know this. If we want to reduce the number of abortions, we need to limit the number of unwanted pregnancies.

House Bill 481 is not going to does this. Better health care for women will. Better health care will also give Georgia healthier newborns.

Let us follow Switzerland’s example and give mothers and newborns the health care they need and deserve.

Switzerland has one of the lowest abortion rates but has very liberal abortions laws.
