Letter: Power crews deserve thanks for quick work

Overnight storms knocked down trees and power lines along Green Street, forcing the busy street to be closed Wednesday as crews from Georgia Power spent most of the day making repairs.

This past Wednesday night a huge red oak fell on Glenwood Drive, of course taking out power lines, transformers and knocking out power for nine hours.

Thank you Gainesville Police, Gainesville Fire Department and Georgia Power.

Area Manager Glennis Barnes responded immediately. Thank You to the Georgia Power line crews. Power was restored at 5:15 a.m. Many thanks for your dedication and hard work!
