Hall County Sheriff’s Office deputies crawled into an overturned vehicle Sunday to comfort a 2-year-old pinned by a truck.

Georgia State Patrol and deputies responded around 9:50 p.m. Sunday to a crash near County Line Road and Bell Road and found multiple occupants ejected from a Dodge Ram truck.

“Deputies could hear the cries of a child coming from inside the overturned Dodge Ram truck,” Hall County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Deputy Nicole Bailes wrote in an email.

The 2-year-old’s leg was pinned under the truck.

“Deputies crawled through leaking gasoline and oil from the overturned truck to hold the child’s hand and comfort her while (emergency medical services) worked to raise the truck off of her leg,” Bailes wrote.

The child was transported to the hospital and is now at home recovering, Bailes said.
