DULUTH — A woman died of gunshot wounds Friday night after being found shot in a parking lot near Gwinnett Place Mall, Gwinnett County police said.

Police said a black woman in her 20s was shot multiple times between 8:30 and 9 p.m. at 3492 Satellite Boulevard near the mall. She has not yet been identified.

The victim was taken to Gwinnett Medical Center in Lawrenceville, where she later died. Police ruled the case a homicide.

Gwinnett police investigators are interviewing possible witnesses and collecting evidence. They are seeking help from the public, asking anyone in the area Friday night when the crime was committed to call 770-513-5300.
