A South Hall resident escaped a fire that otherwise engulfed her mobile home Sunday afternoon.

Hall County Fire Services are investigating the fire in the 6200 block of Lollis Creek Road off Blackjack Road.

Arriving crews found the 14-by-60 trailer “fully involved with fire,” Fire Services Capt. Zachary Brackett said.

The home’s occupant, a woman in her 60s, “heard the fire and was able to exit the structure safely before our arrival,” he added.

The woman, who wasn’t injured, will be staying with family in the area, Brackett said.

Most of the fire has been put out and and crews are putting out hot spots.

The cause isn’t known yet, Brackett said.

He did note that no smoke alarms were in the home.

Hall County Fire Services “would like to remind citizens to ensure that they have working smoke alarms in their homes and the homes of their family members,” Brackett said.

Requests for smoke alarms can be directed to the Hall County Fire Marshal's Office at 770-531-6838.
