Wind damages Flowery Branch gas station
Awning fell as heavy rains swept area
A gas station was damaged Sunday evening in Flowery Branch after wind and rain pelted the area for several hours.

No one was hurt Sunday when high winds and heavy rains brought down the awning at a Flowery Branch gas station.

The Flowery Branch Police Department was securing the scene at the corner of Atlanta Highway and Spout Springs Road for safety concerns, according to Hall County Fire Services spokesman Scott Cagle.

There were no reports of injuries or other damage.

By 6 p.m., the National Weather Service was reporting the area had received over 1.8 inches of rain.
