Water service will be interrupted today along a few Gainesville roads until 4 p.m.

Service along White Sulfur, Cagle, Hall and Lotheridge roads will be affected while Gainesville Public Utilities Crews complete water main improvements in the area.

City crews are replacing all of the old 2-inch galvanized water pipes in the system. Over time, the old pipes corrode and cause problems.

The city will replace the old pipes with a more durable PVC pipe.
