Waffle House is looking to locate in Flowery Branch, but the restaurant chain wants to do so under the city’s old sewer rates.
A called City Council meeting has been scheduled for 9 a.m. Friday to discuss the matter.
Waffle House "wants to be locked into the older rate even though they had no development plans and had not made any formal submittal" before the new water and sewer rates were approved earlier this year, said planning director James Riker.
The chain wants to build a restaurant on McEver Road near Alberta Car Wash. The City Council increased the rates earlier this year.
The City Council also plans to hold a closed meeting regarding land acquisition.
The meeting will take place in City Hall at 5517 Main St.
