Work is done Wednesday on a portion of railroad track in southern Hall County where a Norfolk Southern train collided with a pickup truck stuck on the tracks.

The Georgia State Patrol said the driver, whose name was not available, tried to cross over the tracks in a noncrossing zone on Holiday Road parallel with McEver Road at about 9 a.m. Wednesday.

The Ford truck got a flat tire and became stuck, the patrol said. The driver was not in the truck when it was struck, and he was uninjured. The truck was severely damaged. The state patrol was unsure whether the man would be cited.
