Time changes, and so should batteries

As the time moves back to Standard Time today, the Gainesville Fire Department recommends replacing smoke alarm batteries.

Fire services also recommend replacing alarms that are more than 10 years old or don't work properly when tested.

The department provides and installs smoke detectors for free. Any questions or requests to have an alarm installed can be directed to the Gainesville Fire Department by calling 770-534-3612.
