Three from Gainesville sentenced in tax fraud scheme

Three people from Gainesville were sentenced Tuesday for involvement in an income tax fraud scheme, according to authorities. Enrique Toribio, 30, was sentenced to four years in prison with a subsequent three years of supervised release. He and co-defendant Marcus Burke, 35, of Atlanta, pleaded guilty Aug. 30 to two counts of aggravated identity theft and one count of conspiracy to commit tax fraud.
