Gainesville City Council will discuss formalizing a lease with Don Carter Realty on property at 106 Spring St. in the downtown square Thursday morning when it meets for a work session. Residents and visitors know that property as the parking lot tucked between the square and the Brenau Downtown Center. The Carter realty firm purchased the property for $400,000 from the city in 2001 and has allowed the city to continue using it for parking free of charge.
