An accident involving an overturned SUV injured five people Saturday on John Morrow Parkway in Gainesville.

The single-vehicle accident occurred around 6:30 p.m. at John Morrow near Jesse Jewell Parkway.

Five people were hurt, including the driver, who had to be removed from the vehicle by firefighters using extrication equipment. The road was closed for a time during the procedure.

Four people were transferred to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville. One injured person was flown to Grady by air ambulance.
