A suspect was charged Monday in connection with the fatal shooting of 24-year-old Cleveland man over the weekend.
Jason Carr was charged with involuntary manslaughter, involving the death of Cory Buck at a White County house party Sunday.
Brad Parks, Georgia Bureau of Investigation special agent, said Buck was shot once in the forehead at a residence on Dean Mountain Road. He was pronounced dead at 4 a.m. Sunday at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
“Through interviews, we learned a gun had been pointed at Cory Buck and the gun discharged, striking Cory in the forehead,” Parks said.
Carr, who resided at the home, was arrested.
Parks said nine people were at the party, and no one else was injured. The bullet went through a glass pane and became lodged in the side of a hot tub, which two people were near at the time.
Carr is being held at the White County Jail.
