A woman transported to the hospital from a car wreck Friday died from a heart attack at the hospital, authorities said.
Georgia State Patrol Cpl. Dallas Van Scoten said the agency is treating the case as a fatal wreck.

A trooper responded to Clarks Bridge Road at Honeysuckle Road around 11:15 a.m. Friday.

A Toyota Avalon driven by Jessica Wilkerson, 25, of Auburn, headed southbound on Clarks Bridge Road and “lost control while negotiating a left-hand curve,” Van Scoten said.

The corporal said the car crossed the double yellow line and struck the passenger side of a 2008 Mitsubishi Outlander driven by Deborah Sorrow, 58, of Gainesville.

The call was initially a single-injury collision with Sorrow being transported to the hospital. Wilkerson was determined to be at fault, Van Scoten said.

Sorrow suffered a heart attack at the hospital and died Friday, authorities said.

“There will have to be an autopsy done to see if that heart attack is causation from that wreck,” Van Scoten said.
Charges are pending at this time.
