A public hearing is set for tonight in Gainesville on Common Core standards in Georgia schools. Kevin Boyd, member of the state Board of Education for the 9th District, which covers Hall County and other parts of Northeast Georgia, will hear from the community on the Common Core Georgia Performance Standards in mathematics and English/language arts and the “performance and problems of public education,” according to a news release from the state Department of Education.
