Gainesville police are searching for a suspect in a shooting Thursday afternoon in the 300 block of West Avenue.

One victim with gunshot wounds was transported to the Northeast Georgia Medical Center. The person’s condition was unknown at press time.

Police spokesman Kevin Holbrook said officers responded to the location around 5 p.m.

“It’s an active, ongoing investigation,” he said.
