If you want to get a good look at Hall County’s most wanted fugitives or find out who’s locked up in the local jail, the answer is now just a few mouse clicks away.

This week the Hall County Sheriff’s Office officially unveiled its revamped website, with a more streamlined look and several new features.

Those features include a gallery of mugshots of suspects being sought on charges that range from escape to murder. The new site also now lists all 1,000-plus inmates housed at the Hall County Jail, with the names updated daily.

Other features include sex offender registry information, news releases and crime prevention bulletins.

The sheriff’s previous website, first launched in 2003, was in need of a reboot, said Chief Deputy Col. Jeff Strickland.

“The office’s previous website was long in need of being replaced with a newer, more functional site that not only provides a more professional appearance, but offers citizens some informational resources that were not previously available,” Strickland said.

Those include frequently asked questions on the criminal investigation process and what to do if a family member gets arrested.

The new site also features profiles of the senior command staff, the office’s four divisions and its 11 specialized units.

Strickland said the new website will save money, too, since it’s now hosted by the Hall County Information Services Department. The previous site was privately hosted and required monthly maintenance fees for an outside server.
