In an effort to identify the suspect and make an arrest, the Hall County Sheriff’s Office released video surveillance images and footage from a May burglary.

The suspect is accused of breaking into the Shell station and convenience store at Al Mangum Road and Athens Highway around 2 a.m. on May 26.

In the video, the suspect is seen staggering around behind the register, searching the cabinets, before finally prying open the cash register.

He took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled before deputies arrived.

“Deputies arrived on scene approximately three minutes after the perpetrator left the store. They were dispatched due to an alarm at that location,” said Deputy Chad Mann, spokesman for the sheriff’s office.

Mann said that the store was empty, and closed, when it was burglarized.

Investigators describe the suspect as a white male, approximately 5 feet 9 inches to 5 feet 11 inches tall, 150-160 pounds, with brown hair and a visible tattoo on the left side of his neck.

Mann said that the office waited to release the images once efforts to identify the perpetrator were unsuccessful.

“We are just at the point in the investigation where a lead from the public will greatly help us in identifying this suspect,” he said.

Mann said as part of the investigation, he could not disclose how the suspect fled the scene.
