Gainesville High School officials have sweetened the pot in the case of the school’s missing elephant.
The person who safely returns the metal sculpture, which was a gift of the class of 1963, will receive a season ticket to this fall’s football games, said Wayne Vickery, athletic director at Gainesville High.
“I’ll be glad to give somebody a season football ticket if they come forward,” Vickery said.
The elephant was mounted on the side of the school in the mid to late 1960s but then vanished. Its whereabouts are still unknown.
Class members are hoping to find it in time for a reunion in June.
Anyone with information on the elephant can call 770-532-4375 or 678-873-9357.
