Safety tips will be mixed with fun activities for kids this Saturday at the Midtown Greenway in Gainesville.

Tips will include topics like water, fire, sports, home and road safety. Games, bounce houses and free refreshments also will be available.

Free helmets will be given to children ages 5-12 who are at the event.

The event is from 3-6 p.m. and is put on by Safe Kids Gainesville/Hall County and the Gainesville Police Department. It will be held at the area behind the police office at 701 Queen City Parkway.
