Hall County Sheriff Steve Cronic was honored this week by the Rotary Club of Gainesville with the W. Lee Arrendale Award for Vocational Excellence.
The award is presented each year to recognize a member of the community who serves society through excellence in his vocation, promotes high ethical standards in the community and sets an example for others.
The award was presented to Cronic by Magistrate Judge David Burroughs.
Cronic is serving in his second four-year term as sheriff and faces no opposition for a third term in this November’s general election.
Cronic serves and supports several civic organizations and boards, including the Edmondson Telford Center for Children, the Hall County Commission for Children and Families, the Northeastern Judicial Circuit’s Domestic Violence Task Force, the County and Municipal Probation Advisory Council and the States Board of Public Safety.
