Motorists headed down on Interstate 85 through Gwinnett County will encounter some overnight lane closures this week.

The Georgia Department of Transportation is working on extending the express lanes on I-85 and will be closing lanes to set up temporary barriers and haul equipment.

Both left and right lanes on I-85 southbound will be closed from north of Ga. 20/Buford Drive down to Ga. 317/Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. Wednesday through Sunday.

Drivers are cautioned to slow down and watch for workers and heavy equipment as they travel through the work zones.
