A $10,000 reward is being offered for information concerning a fire that destroyed a Gainesville home and extensively damaged two others Sunday.

Gainesville Fire Marshal Chad Payne has determined that arson is behind the fires in the 2500 block of Lenox Park Drive off U.S. 129 South.

The reward is for information resulting in the arrest and conviction of the arson suspect or suspects, officials said.

"The investigation is still very active, but investigators need (the public's) help," Payne said.
The fire, reported at 7:20 a.m., caused a total loss to one home, with damage estimated at $100,000, and $15,000 in damage to each of the homes on either side of it.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Gainesville Fire Department at 770-534-3612 or the Georgia Arson Hotline at 1-800-282-5804.
