The Hall County Sheriff’s Office is investigating reports of a man shot in the leg during an attempted armed robbery at a home on Barnes Street.

“He went to another residence on another road to (report the incident),” which happened about 2:30 p.m., said Deputy Chad Mann, sheriff’s office spokesman.

Barnes Street is off Floyd Road near Gainesville.

“It’s kind of sketchy as to what really happened and we’re trying to work out the details,” Mann said. “We have deputies and investigators on the scene, so hopefully real soon, we’ll have answers.”
