A 35-year-old Gainesville man died Sunday morning during a swimming incident at Myrtle Beach, S.C., according to a Facebook post from the Myrtle Beach Police Department. The man, who wasn’t identified in the post, was about knee deep in the ocean with a young relative “when a wave crashed over him,” police said. The Sun News of Myrtle Beach reported that Horry County Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard identified the Gainesville man as Raymundo Garcia.
