CUMMING — The Forsyth County News has named Frank Reddy, a former reporter for The Times and FCN, as its new editor.
Reddy began in the position Thursday. He previously worked at the Dawson County News (then named the Dawson Community News), another of The Times’ sister papers owned by Morris Multimedia.
Reddy most recently worked as a freelance writer for HOME Magazine, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Gwinnett Daily Post, Creative Loafing and Atlanta Magazine, among others.
He also is a published author. His first novel, “Eyes on the Island,” was published in 2016 by a San Francisco company.
“I’m very excited about this new role, and I’m looking forward to working with the talented staff of the Forsyth County News,” Reddy said. “This is a wonderful community and helping lead this team in covering the news that matters to our readers is a huge honor.”
FCN Publisher Stephanie Woody, who replaced Vince Johnson last month, said she was pleased to welcome Reddy.
“We are so excited to have someone with Frank’s experience overseeing our news team,” she said. “He brings with him a great deal of experience and a stellar reputation in local, honest journalism.”
Reddy replaced former editor Kayla Robins, who recently accepted a job at The Sumter Item, where Johnson now serves as publisher.
Reddy, a Gainesville native, lives in Atlanta with his wife, Joy, and 3-year-old daughter.
