Rabid skunk caught in North Hall

The Georgia Public Health Lab in Decatur confirmed Monday that a skunk captured in the Wiley Road area of North Hall tested positive for rabies.

Area residents have been notified of the incident, and residents have been asked to report any abnormal animal activity to Gainesville-Hall Animal Control at 770-531-6830 or, during non-working hours, to Hall County Dispatch at 770-536-8812.

County residents owning pets that are not current on rabies vaccinations should take their pets to a veterinarian office immediately for vaccinations.
