Hall County Sheriff’s officials say no arrests have been made related to a number of break-ins that occurred at Lake Lanier Islands Beach & Water Park on Saturday.

Sheriff’s office spokesman Col. Jeff Strickland said the sheriff’s office is still investigating the incident in which six vehicles were broken into and several items stolen, including cell phones, portable media devices, a navigation system and one firearm.

Although officials with the water park did not return phone calls from The Times on Monday, the parking lot is closed to the general public, Strickland said.

“Unless you’re an employee, you have to pay a parking fee to get in,” he said.

Strickland said investigators have not identified any suspects.

“...I’m sure there were hundreds of cars there and hundreds of people visiting the islands, so right now it’s under investigation.”
