Sheriff Gerald Couch overwhelmingly fended off three challengers to be reelected to a third term at the helm of the Hall County Sheriff’s Office
Who is he: With 38 years of law enforcement experience, Couch has served as sheriff since 2013.
How he reacted: “I’m just honored and humbled that people want to see me continue to serve. The Sheriff’s Office in this community has been my lifelong dream of being able to serve.”
On the issues: Couch said he would like to return the retirement match to 8% and beyond as a way to “keep good quality officers here in Hall County.”
What’s next: There are no independent or Democratic candidates, so Couch will continue in office in January.
