Leigh Miller of Flowery Branch plans to run for the Georgia House of Representatives District 30 seat.
District 30 covers the southern portion of Gainesville, Flowery Branch, Oakwood and Gillsville.
Miller is an attorney and a partner in a local agritourism business.
“After a ton of thought and conversation with friends and family, I have decided to answer the call to run for local office to represent us in southern Hall County,” Miller said in a statement. “We are just humbled and grateful for the vast outpouring of support so far and are eager to have important, positive conversations about how to meet the growing needs of our community.”
Miller, a Democrat, is a Georgia native, grew up in Snellville, and graduated from Brookwood High School, the University of Georgia and Emory Law School.
She worked at a local litigation firm for six years after marrying Eric Miller, also of Snellville, and they now have three children. Leigh and Eric are co-owners of a local farm winery and live in South Hall.
Miller is involved with the Parent Teacher Organization at her children’s school and volunteers with the Georgia Mountain Food Bank.
