A man walked into a Buford Subway right after it opened, pulled out a gun and ordered the employee to open the cash register, according to authorities.

Gwinnett County Police are seeking a white man in the alleged armed robbery around 10 a.m. Dec. 20 at the Cumming Highway Subway in Buford.

The Subway employee told police a man entered the store right after it opened. The suspect said he was not ready to order, and the employee went back to the staff area of the restaurant, police said.

“When the employee returned to the assembly station the male pulled a gun from the front of his sweatshirt pocket and tapped the counter with it,” Gwinnett County Police Cpl. Michele Pihera wrote in a news release. “The suspect demanded that the employee open the cash register.”

The suspect took “a few hundred dollars” from the register and left through the front door, police said. He is believed to be 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing around 180-190 pounds.

The suspect was seen wearing a blue Under Armour sweatshirt hoodie, a hat and loose-fitting jeans.
