Police are seeking information on the identity of this person, who they say tried to rob a Dollar General store on Lenox Drive on April 27, 2019.

Employees and others inside a Gainesville Dollar General yelled at a man holding a kitchen knife to leave the store Saturday, according to police.

Gainesville Police said the man entered with the knife  around 10:30 p.m. Saturday, April 27, at the Lenox Drive Dollar General and demanded money, but the employees resisted.

“After employees/witnesses on scene yelled at the male to leave and 911 was being called, the male fled the scene on foot,” Cpl. Jessica Van wrote in an email.

No one was injured, and no items were stolen.

Van said the suspect was described as “dark-skinned.” He was wearing a black mask, a teal hoodie, khaki pants and white-soled gray shoes.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 770-534-5252.
