Police investigating Sunday night shooting that injured man

A man was shot in the face around 11 p.m. Sunday and walked to a nearby gas station to seek assistance, according to police.

Gainesville Police are investigating the shooting.

“He was shot in the face, however, was in stable condition,” Sgt. Kevin Holbrook said.

Police said they believe the shooting happened on West Avenue.

“The subject then walked to the Kangaroo, where the clerk contacted 911,” Holbrook said.

Officers responded to the Jesse Jewell Parkway gas station and took the man to Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
