A woman walking Wednesday night down Myrtle Street in Gainesville was robbed of her purse, police said.

Gainesville Police are investigating the purse-snatching incident from around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Sgt. Kevin Holbrook said the suspect, wearing black pants and a black hooded shirt, came up behind the woman, “grabbed her purse and took off running.”

No one was hurt, Holbrook said.
