Gainesville police are investigating a late Monday armed robbery and car theft at a liquor store.

Police say a man entered Kelly’s Kapers at 317 Broad St. at about 11:15 p.m. and produced a handgun. He demanded all the money in the cash register, Lt. Floyd Canup said.

The man then stole a green 1978 Chevrolet Nova from one of the customers in the store and left the area.

No one was injured in the incident, and the vehicle was recovered later.

Police have no other information about the suspect, who was wearing a ski mask and black clothes, Canup said.
