The Hall County Planning Commission has recommended approval for a fiber optic cable company’s plans to open for business at the former Georgia Department of Transportation maintenance shop and surrounding property off Spout Springs Road in South Hall. The Board of Commissioners will vote Jan. 26 on whether to give the final approval needed for Flowery Branch-based Ideal Communications to rezone the 3-acre property to highway business from agricultural-residential. The long-abandoned shop would be used as an office and storage space, according to the application.
