An early-morning fire destroyed a single-wide mobile home in Lula Wednesday, killing two pets and leaving two people displaced.

No one was home when the fire was reported around 4 a.m. on the 6900 block of Wheeler Road, according to a statement released by Zachary Brackett, public information officer for Hall County Fire Services. Bracket said the fire was fully involved when firefighters arrived. They extinguished the fire, but the home was a “total loss,” he said.

A dog and bird were both killed in the fire. There were no injuries to firefighters reported.

The American Red Cross was contacted to assist the two residents who were displaced.

The cause of the fire has not been determined.
