Pat Jones easily won Tuesday's special election to the Oakwood City Council, filling the unexpired term of Ron McFarland.

She earned 64 percent of the vote in defeating Charles James.

Who is she: Pat Jones is a retired educator who now compiles and publishes genealogical resource books.

How she reacted: “I’m pleased and looking forward to working with the (Oakwood) City Council. I think I’m really going to enjoy it.”

On the issues: Jones has said she would like to see the development of more residential areas.

What’s next: She will finish out former Councilman Ron McFarland’s term, which will be from Nov. 9 to Dec. 31, 2017.
