One driver injured, all children safe in school bus wreck

One person was taken to the hospital for injuries after a wreck involving a bus carrying Riverbend Elementary students.

The incident happened before 3 p.m. Thursday on U.S. 129 and Scenic Drive.

Hall County Schools spokesman Gordon Higgins said none of the seven Riverbend Elementary students nor the driver were injured, but the driver of the other car sustained injuries.

Hall County Schools Director of Transportation Clay Hobbs said a car struck the rear of bus 2108.

“Parents of the students were notified by Riverbend administration and came to the scene to pick up their children,” Higgins said.

The case is being investigated by Georgia State Patrol.
