Lake Lanier is one of the busiest lakes in the nation and over the Memorial Day weekend the water traffic increases dramatically. For local law enforcement, the holiday weekend means long and taxing hours, both on the road and the water. But the increased effort, they say, is essential to keep the thousands of lake-goers and holiday travelers safe.
