Hall County fire officials filed criminal charges against a man who accidentally set fire to a vacant mobile home early Friday morning.

James Michael Boyd, 20, of Hialeah, Fla., faces charges of felony second-degree criminal trespass and misdemenor reckless conduct in connection with a fire that was started at 3090 Beards Road.

Cagle said firefighters responded at about 1:40 a.m. Friday to a 12-by-60 foot vacant mobile home that was fully ablaze. The home was destroyed. No one was injured.

Investigators determined that Boyd, who was staying at a mobile home next door, had been inside the vacant mobile home, burning wasp nests with a tiki torch, when the torch fell on several bags of garbage and started the fire, Cagle said.

As of Friday afternoon, warrants had been secured but Boyd had not yet been arrested.
