A new ZF Industries plant in Gainesville is expected to create 215 new jobs. The $90 million, 250,000-square-foot facility will build transmissions for wind turbines.

Guests at a ground breaking today, including Gov. Sonny Perdue and Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle, spoke to the importance of renewable energy for the future of Georgia’s economy.

Perdue said the state has positioned itself to become an inviting location for businesses.

"Those things don’t just happen," Perdue said. "Y’all have done a great job in Hall County making businesses feel welcome."

ZF Industries currently has a plant in Hall County that manufactures automotive transmissions and axles.
