Jeff Hubbard, president of the Georgia Association of Educators, attacks a state House bill that calls for a sales tax to replace property taxes as an education funding source.

On Monday, the Stone Bridge Village retail center on Spout Springs Road expects to open the new lane on the exit ramp from Interstate 985 to Exit 12 if weather permits, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation.

The developers have been upgrading Spout Springs Road and the exit ramp and this work should be finished by lunchtime Monday, according to Teri Pope with the DOT.

The developers are widening the existing exit ramp and adding another right turn lane. When the work is finished to the ramp we will have two right turn lanes onto Spout Springs Road,” Pope said.

“The new right turn lane on the exit ramp from I-985 to Spout Springs Road will open for you to use by lunch time Monday. Just remember this new outside right turn lane is a ‘keep moving’ lane and stops before the traffic signal at Hog Mountain Road.”

Georgia DOT urges travelers to call 511 for updated information about road conditions.
