While many spent Memorial Day weekend lounging by the pool or barbecuing with friends, thousands in Gainesville spent the weekend at the Lake Lanier Olympic Park. The American Collegiate Rowing Association’s ninth annual Championship Regatta was hosted by the Lake Lanier Rowing Club on Saturday and Sunday. Participants are full-time undergraduate students from colleges and universities across the nation, according to Duane Schlereth, president of the club.
