Have an opportunity for a night at the movies under the stars this Friday and donate schools supplies to students in need at the same time.

Becky Martin, school nutrition manager at Jones Elementary School, said the movie night is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Friday in the East Hall High School football stadium. The movie is the 2016 version of “Anne of Green Gables” and will be shown beginning at dusk. The event is sponsored by the Hall County School Nutrition Association.

The cost of admission is the donation of any school supplies.

“We thought it was a good way to reach out to the community and let them know what we actually do in the kitchen and try to help the kids and try to help participation in the meal program,” Martin said. “We just thought it would be helpful for the kids in our schools who need additional help.”

Martin added that the school supplies that are donated will be divided up between the different Hall County Schools.

“We’re going to give them to the counselors so they can give them to whoever needs them,” she said.
