Motorcyclist seriously injured after Cash Road wreck

A Lawrenceville motorcyclist was seriously injured after striking a vehicle and overturning on its side Thursday morning in Flowery Branch, according to authorities.

Georgia State Patrol said Bruce Erskine, 62, was riding a 1999 Harley Davidson Road King southbound on Cash Road, while Andrew Seibert, 56, of Flowery Branch was headed northbound in a Kia Optima.

State patrol Cpl. Josh Hedden said Erskine crossed the center line and struck Seibert’s Optima “on the left side with the left side (of the motorcycle).”

“(The motorcycle) then overturned on the left side coming to rest in the northbound lane of travel,” Hedden wrote in an email.

Seibert told state patrol he left the road on the right “but was unable to avoid being hit.”

Hedden said Erskine was seriously injured in the wreck, while Seibert was uninjured.

No charges will be assessed by state patrol.
