The body of an Oakwood man who was reported missing last Tuesday was found late Thursday in Lake Lanier, the Hall County Sheriff's Office has reported in a news release.

The victim, Christopher D. Johnson, 27, was recovered from the lake near a family dock. His body was discovered by a relative at approximately 2:45 p.m.

An investigation revealed that Johnson was last seen by a friend at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday after a round of golf at Chicopee Woods Golf Course. It is believed he then went fishing on the family dock afterward.

Johnson had a history of medical issues, which could explain why he fell into the lake.

The incident is still under investigation by the Hall County Criminal Investigations Division. However, there were no indications of foul play, according to the news release issued by Sgt. Kiley Sargent.

The fatality was the second of the summer season recorded at Lake Lanier. Quavante Combs, 17, of Lawrenceville, drowned May 28 over Memorial Day weekend at Burton Mill Park on the south end of the lake.
