A man was injured when a tree fell on him Friday night in East Hall County.

Hall County Fire Services was called to the scene on Whitehall Road just after 6 p.m., according to Fire Marshal Scott Cagle.

Cagle said people nearby had already removed the tree, which they said the man had been cutting down. The tree fell on the man, temporarily pinning him to the ground, according to the reports.

The man was flown by helicopter to a trauma hospital in Atlanta with serious injuries, possibly including a head injury. The fire department cannot release the victim's name due to HIPPA laws, and his current condition was unavailable.
